About Baba Ramdevji's Temple - (A Brief Note)

The old cenotaph was built in the memory of Shri Ramdeoji by descendants but the present cenotaph was built by Maharaja Shri Ganga Singhji of Bikaner at Shri Ramdevra Runecha। The king was aware of the powers of Baba Ramdevji whom he regarded like a deity। The tomb of Shri Ramdevji is worshipped here। This tomb or cenotaph is at the centre of the temple campus। The head is towards north while the feet are towards South। In this temple various tombs of the family members of Shri Ramdevji are also there while in Hindudharma the dead bodies are cremated, here like the Nath cult, the dead bodies are assigned to dust in a grave and a tomb is built thereon। The orginal temple was quite ordinary but the present temple is beautifully built by the local masons, sculptors and artizans. Various kinds of lattices, projections and Jharokhas (a projected construction covered by lattices around) have been used here. Excepting the inner temple, the rest of the temple has been built in the modern style of architecture. Building stone, Makrana marble and lime morter have been used.

The temple (tomb) is related to the Tanwar Rajputs. People have a great faith in the temple. Atmosphere is charged with faith and devotion. All the year around devotees and visitors come to the temple to offer their homage and prayers to seek fulfilment of their wishes. Entry to the Samadhi (tomb) is allowed without any consideration of caste and creed and religon hence people from all walks of life, all sects and communities come.
